I only just realized that I haven’t posted any outfits on the blog. It’s not that I don’t want to share some of my looks with you. It’s just, well, I get really nervous and awkward around cameras. (You know how Chandler can’t smile in front of a camera?? And makes the craziest looking face?? That’s me.) The hubs took these photos of me while we were in Switzerland. I surprisingly don’t look scared or angry and I’m not making my Nacho face. (Hahaa, I like that movie.) I think the reason they came out okay was because I was literally singing in the snow. I’ve never been so in love with my surroundings. I completely forgot about everything else.
So, here it is – my first spring capsule wardrobe outfit post. This was my first time in freezing temperatures! My capsule wardrobe was not equipped for that kind of weather. So, I did what I do best. Layered. You can’t tell, or maybe you can, but I’m wearing a white thermal undershirt, a dress and a grey tee. On my legs, I have thermals and 2 pairs of socks. My blue quilted jacket goes on top of all of this.
There are so many benefits to being short but when you’re only 5 feet tall, have an hourglass body shape, and you pile on layers and layers of clothes you start to look frumpy. No one, ever, wants to look frumpy. To solve that little issue I knotted-up my shirt at my natural waist. Layering a shirt on top of a dress also gives you more options, which is very important when you’re living with a capsule wardrobe.
I gotta admit it was fun to do this type of post. I hope you enjoyed it too. Is there anything you do to avoid looking frumpy when you layer?
For the first time I’m linking-up over on Rachel’s blog, The Creative Closet. She’s adorable and I’m glad to be part of the fun.
